Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is hiring a Freight Coordinator to work onsite in Irvine, CA. This is a great fit for someone who has worked in a truckload-heavy environment, is comfortable booking freight directly with carriers ( up to 100+ loads a week) and has experience negotiating rates.

100% onsite, pay is up to $36/ hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic freight movements from pickup through final delivery.
  • Schedule transportation services and confirm shipment details with carriers and business partners.
  • Handle 100+ loads a week.
  • Monitor freight activity and provide timely updates regarding shipment status.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with suppliers, customers, warehouses, and internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
  • Review and maintain transportation records, shipping documents, invoices, and proof-of-delivery documentation.
  • Utilize transportation and business systems to update shipment information, track performance, and maintain data integrity.
  • Analyze shipping challenges and develop practical solutions to minimize service disruptions.
  • Assist in carrier selection and support freight cost management initiatives.
  • Coordinate across multiple transportation modes including truckload, LTL, and other freight services as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and transportation documentation standards.
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in special projects and reporting requests as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, dispatching, freight brokerage, or a related operational role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating a high volume of shipments while managing shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, or similar business platforms is preferred.
  • Understanding of transportation processes, freight documentation, and logistics best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
